haha, small yes! I have harlequin rasboras, about 10-12 of them.
My last addition was boraras maculatus. About 10 of them. They are lovely fishes, and now thier color has picked up nicely. So sad i cannot yet take a nice macro photo of them to show the red coloration on thier dorsal and 'below body' fins. Beautiful.

Think that if i add fishes again, it will be micro rasboras. I know the fishes are small, but i love them so much. And hopefully there is enough swimming space for them, to stay healthy and hopefully breed.

btw, there is no distortion in the photo, this is really the lenght of the tank (full height, and full width)

    Regards
    Christophe

a school of S.A.E.... interesting idea. but i believe S.A.E don't school around, they are most likely to be those individual swimmers rather than schooling fishes.
S.A.E are peaceful fishes, they will not fight with each other < though sometimes they like to chase each other ard in the tank>

however, u must take in consideration that S.A.E can grow to quite big size. so the idea of a big school of adult size S.A.E is not very ideal in a planted tank

Better not get too many SAEs or they would make your moss lawn bald.

I do not think I will put colorful fishes inside. Just harlequin(x15) and espei rasboras(x10) and boraras maculatus (x20) inside will do.

Update. I change my java moss lawn to E.tenellus and normal hairgrass.
Reason: I was not using my ADA soil enough, and it was starting to compact, with all kind of gas coming up. Some of my shrimps died, so i guess it should be sulphuric ... E.tenellus (emersed form) and normal hairgrass was obtained from Teo Farm. Hope the tenellus convert well.

    Added : 4 wood shrimps, 1 survived.

Will keep you updated as E.tenellus convert and spread.

    Hi

I noticed in the past few days that my water has turned a bit cloudy. JUst want to ask those experienced if the cloudiness is due to which main factors?

Can it be due to water change? (the tank is established, filter has not been washed, so i assumed my bacteria is still there, will 50-80% weekly W.C leads to bacterial bloom?)

I have changed from moss carpet to E.tenellus and hairgrass. Some of my ADA soil has turned to fine soil (powder type). Has the addition of 50 Malayan and 5 yamato contribute to the cloudy water? Since the carpet is not yet formed, they are sometimes messing out the ada powder aquasoil.

    any other reasons? Haze?? hehehe.

Can more CO2 turned the water cloudy? I am not cracking the Co2 to near limit.

Do more large water changes say 50-80% 2x a week to clean up the tank good for the initial phase for 2-3 weeks till the tank settles in. Clean the filter as well as too much mulm in it is bad and is a drain on O2. The rest is basically focusing on making conditions favourable for plant growth. (Good amount of light, nutrients and CO2...produces lots of O2 for bacteria use for breaking down of waste products.).

You can also add in some zeolite or carbon to clean things up for while. (NH4)...
