I once used 10000K tube in planted tank. No bad effect on plants. The color is more blue compared to 6500K or 8000K
I bought a 2 ft PL light 55W for my 4x2x2.5(h) tank. The shop put in a 10000K tube for me. I didn't do any study before I bought the light. What can I expect from 10000K? What's the effect on plants vs a 6500K for example?
The place where I put my tank is bright so I thought a 2 ft PL light will do. It is not a planted tank.

Unfortunately you didn't mention whether your tank is a reef tank or not. Visible color aspects aside, the additional blue spectrum 10000K lighting provides is necesary for growth of most corals in reef tanks (or, to be more precise, for growth of microorganisms within the corals that have specialized in using the blue spectrum). As far as I know it has no real effect on (freshwater) plants as those can use the blue spectrum just as well as the red one.

My tank is a freshwater fish tank with some java ferns. I prefer less blue and told the staff I wanted daylight and I end up having a bluish tube. Mayb daylight is yellowish to me and bluish to her.
usually when you buy PL lights now they put in 10k tubes inside..
i wonder why
same thing for me when i bought one at NA 2 mths back
but i asked chan to change to 8k tube
10k to me is too blue
6k/6.5k too yellow - not so crisp view
so 8k is best!
