    Hi folks,

I'm going to setup my new plant tank and was unable to order the wide variety of plants from a lfs as they told me I must order minimum of 3pots for each type of plants!!! My's only a 2 feet tank only.....

Could you guys advise me where can I get my supply of plants from at cheaper prices as I'm looking for wide variety and small quantity?

    Many Thanks!!

firethorn, we will appreciate it if you would cut down on sms lingo, abbreviation, AQ serve both locally and foreign and we like to promote proper use of the english language

Caca, you can try keong seong at havelock, they do carry more selection than normal LFS and they get their supplies from Teo. But nothing beats going to Teo.

For public transport, you can take the train to Choa chu kang MRT and change to TIBS 172 (need to confirm), but it will be a long walk in, from the road, suggest you ask around to see if any member who drives can give you a lift. Alternatively, you can catch a cab in, but again, you have to find your way back from the farm. Note that, there isn't many taxi along Lim Chu Kang road. Opening hours should be around 8-9am till in the evening, but best to call to check before going down. Just mention AQ to Mr. Teo and he will give you a tour around the farm

ps. don't tell him, I told you that

if cost is not a big factor you can try ordering from online retailers.
some of them have pretty good variety

I'm not sure if it is a really good idea to have so many different plants in a 2ft tank.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

I have the same problem ... do not drive so it was impossible for me to go to the farms

I get my plants from Kingfisher (in geylang) , NA (pretty limited) or colorful (next to NA). Ian from kingfisher should be able to order plants for you and free advise too :> (saves the taxi fare to the farms)

You might want to give Teo's farm a call to check for the availability of certain plants as they might not carry some of the stem plants... Else you will be making a wasted trip without getting much of the supplies. What's more is that you don't drive...

Was there 2 weeks ago, think they are replanting quite a few beds, so not much variety...

Why don't you head down to APP farm instead tomorrow first?
And see if there are any people who are interested to go to Teo's farm over the weekend (and drives) and you join them? More convenient I feel.

If I am available and have the car to use, I don't mind bringing you there... Else see if anyone else willing to give you a lift...

I find Teo's have a slightly more variety than Ah Pek Farm. But still, it is worth the trip if it is nearer to you. Alternatively, go Colourful Aquarium, next to Nature Aquarium. Other LFS like C328, Kingfisher and Fu Wo usually have quite a bit of variety of plants nowadays.
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

    I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted! ), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted! ), C.tonkinensis(Melted! ), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii

Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...
