Have intentions to startup a shrimps tank.

What is the idea water temperature?
Is CO2 a must for such tank?
Type of plants best suit for shrimps?
It is true that mosses are the best?
The cheapest shrimps type? Maybe donation ha..ha...

    Thanks, all comments welcome.

Temperature = lower the better. Of coz if you want to have it cheap, get a small fan keep it out of sunlight and the temperature would be about 26-28 degrees

    CO2 is not neccessary.

Any plants are suitable. Most people would keep them with mosses as they display best colouration and also able to hide their babies. Easy plants are best with no CO2 would be like Anubias, moss, crypts.

Well, its hard to get cheap shrimps however, cherries are always a good start since they are easy to keep and breed like mosquitoes which well can be some extra income for you perhaps

    Will a tank of 8 inches high X 24 X 18 be suitable as a shrimp tank?.

Very much so. Any size will fit. Most guys don't even bother to change water for shrimp tank. Top up of water will be fine. Pretty much low maintenance. I would make it filterless for the fun of low tech and expect the plants to take in all the co2. Remember, no splashing of water and keep it low light. some small fishes to keep the mosquitoes at bay

Busy this weekend? Shall we go shrimp and fish shopping??

My problem is the layer of protein on the water surface

last night try adding a shrimp in the tank.. it turn white after a while.. and lie flat on the substrate..
any idea how long to wait before adding shrimp into a newly setup tank?.. the tank had been setup for about 2 weeks..

freezze, it would be advisable to start off your own thread so that more people can help to contribute more ideas/suggestions/solutions. Do provide us all the neccessary tank specifications

As requested by the thread starter, this thread is closed as there seems to have another similar thread already.
