drift wood

hi opps posted in the wronf category just now.

anyone know where to find nice drift wood in western/central part of singapore? saw some nice ones at pet safari but was like $15 for one piece. chinatown selling at half the price but not so nice leh.

and also. how to get rid of the brownish color of the drift wood before putting into tank. u know lah new ones tends to give out too much color...

Try soaking longer in water to wash away those colours....

it is difficult ...
it will take a very long time and a lot of soakings if you want the leeching to stop

esp if with big pieces of wood...wa lao it takes forever to disappear..and they dont really disappear 100%

u can boil or soak it in hot water to remove the stain faster, aerating it oso helps... alittle stain wouldnt hurt

but i find the colour of the water eyesore!

if it bugs you that much, use activated carbon
