Problem with my surface skimmer

i got some problem with this item. it floats too high and the sloted part are out of water. what could be the cause ? any bro encounter this problem?

I have this problem too.
I believe it could be that the filter does not have enough inflow power to "suck" the thing down... I am not sure...

Btw soulfinder, which brand of skimmer you using? Mine is the TOM one... Anyone else having this problem too?

And if there isn't this problem, what is your brand?

Try adjusting the black centre shaft, if that doesn't work, release some air from underneath the slotted head. That usually does the trick. If the skimmer is old, take out and scrub clean before putting back.
If for whatever reasons, none of the above works, tilt the skimmer.

frankly speaking i also dunnoe what brand bought it from aquastar for 11 bucks or so.

after releasing some air below the floating part. everything back to normal. thanks to bro micheal lai.

The black portion of your surface might be tilted at a slight angle. If you adjust it back up to straight, this should solve the problem.

This could be caused by the connecting host "pushing" the surface skimmer at the lower portion, causing the tilt.

The black body part might be too low in the water, adjust it until the overflow is above water surface and in the slot.
