Ghost shrimps as in the freshwater feeder shrimps? They are almost everywhere... Just ask for feeder shrimps.

Seahorses are marine and are darn difficult to feed. Make sure you are able to culture small nutritious live food before you obtain the specimen. Look for the shops at Jalan Kayu for a higher chance...

On the contrary, it is one of the easiest. But have to be careful as most specimens are very poorly taken care of.

Michael, I beg to differ. Seahorses are not as easy to keep... There usually is the problem of finding enough nutritious small live food for feeding them... Thus, they being labled as difficult to keep.

And they are rather endangered... Thus, it is always better to make sure you can feed them before getting them.

I've kept 3 specimens for a year before releasing back to the wild.( all in the pink of health ) and that was before we even hear of calcium reactor, venturi skimmer and ozoniser that costs an arm and a leg. I didn't even have a chiller with me then and the tank was basically running on under gravel filtration.

The miracle of the good old times.

Anyway, my point is, the fish is difficult to keep because of the food requirement.

And the fact that it is endangered, it is better to make sure we can feed it before getting it.

That I agree, anyway Eric it is not that difficult if your tank conditions are right. Actually my experience with marine tanks is donkey years ago so some of the methods I employ might be obselete or technologies replaced. But the basics are still the same, your tank beneficial bacteria must be allowed to mature so as to set the foundation for your future endeavours.
Let me see if I can still find that book and share with you guys, marine tanks running on under gravel filter and aeration only. Proven, tested and approved.
