Banning the player whether it is imposed by the club (like in this case) or by FA doesn't really hurt the offender, it hurt the club, it hurt the fans, but not the player. A hefty fine (meaning not a lousy 2 week salary) would be more effective, after all, why should the club or its fans pay for the stupidity of a player.
Glad to read in today's papers that the ref also kena demote.. good decision, he must be blind.
