It looks really busy...
Cheers,
This tank got a scary bioload of 300 tetras, 6 SAE, 20 yamato ,10 cherries and 1 dwarf puffer.
pls feel free to comment so that i can improve on it.
BTW it got some tough dark brown algae on it's glass which need some scrubbing to get rid of. anyway to prevent it from growing again?

Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
the scape is okay... but the fish... haiz...
supposed to be nice fish..but now it looks like orchard road.. busy busy busy.. look liao how to feel relaxed?
nice setup!
if only the tetras be able to swim in a direction orderly will be nice.
you have huge tetras and not to mention your SAEs too.![]()
The Happiest of people don't neccessary have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way
When will there be 25 letters in the alphabets?
aiyo, why so many fishes inside!
wahaha...that time cheap 300 for 20 bucks plus alot of free food. want to reduce by 75% make it become 50 tetras.
the water in this tank is real cold 23-25 max. with 2 set of 2x 36 PL lights
tried to add in "ERP" to scare those tetras and make them swim together but my "ERP" died before they can do anything think it's the water temp too low for them.
wah my eye blur already!
The fish reminds me of ants but the scape is okay.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
me too. i feel blurred looking at the picture.
300 tetras? woah!! If your filter and tank can take the bioload, then why not?
how do i tell if my filter n tank can take the load???
non of them die of illness. a couple of them jump out and a few died when i over inject co2 into water
tell you wat give me 50 of them LOL save them from further stress!!
lol 100 tetras i think a lot le.. still 300

i think Gan had a planted tank (outside) full of cardinals, is a lot more than this. but somehow the cardinals are all swimming in the same direction. very pleasing to the eyes. i think the "schooling" effect is because of the huge number of cardinals that Gan had.Originally Posted by richietay

Nice setup. like everyone here I find the fishes are too 'busy'. it lost the serene and relax mood normally associated with planted tank.
to get the cardinals to school together, just scare them right b4 taking a photo. they will all line up together.
that's a nice way.wahahaha
i saw a strange thing happening to this tank, it used to have this layer of white stuff floating on top. looks slimy. today when i look at the tank, the surface of the water are crystal clear. no water movement as usual. the only thing i did was add in around 10 stalks of super fast grower (around 9cm when planted, 1 week later become 30cm).
is it because of these fast growers take out all the extra nutruiets???
if not what happen????
Guess those white stuff floating are proteins, which are harmless anyway. Can use a surface skimmer to remove them, or molly can do the job.
What sort of flitering system are you using to cope with this amount of high bio-load? No water movement?
You better reduce your bioload ASAP, you might not see the damage now, but there is a motherload of fish crap accumulating at the bottom. It is an ammonium time bomb waiting to go off. When it goes boom! You will have more than dead fish to content with. Coincidentally ammonium nitrate is a cheap alternative for a real bomb, so don't put a lighter near your tank.OK, it's cheesy.
