    Hi All, newbie Skybluecrystal here,

I love the site, and wanted to tell you all about our 2 x Dwarf Otocinclus. My husband & I are new to keeping tropical fish, so bought a 45 litre "Orb" in May 2006 to start. We stocked it with 3 leafy plants and put 5 Neon Tetras, 2 Male & 5 Female Guppies, and 2 x Dwarf Otos in it.

We were delighted when we spotted 3 or 4 Guppy fry, and they have all matured. Then, in early July we noticed 3 tiny Otos. These I am pleased to say are still with us and are now about 3/4 inch long. Our local friendly Fish Supplier said he'd never heard of Otos breeding in captivity. Imagine our surprise when 3 days ago we spotted 3 more tiny baby Otos.

    Regards to all

    Hi Gummynut,
Yes, we have some of the first lot, so I'll post them, and I'll get the Hubby to take some of the new ones when they show themselves.

    Hi Skybluecrystal,
Welcome to Aquatic Quotient and greetings from Singapore. Always a joy to behold and share when a new life is born. Congratulations, it's not everyday Otos spawn in your tank and thanks for sharing. Enjoy your stay.

    Cheers.
Something about the water & the fishes that calms me down.
