Im looking into buying a CL-280 for my 35 gallon... ambient temp in manila is around 33++ during the summer and im starting to give up on DIY and everything...

my question is how much electricity do you think the chiller will consume ? with an ambient temp of 33+ how many hours a day do you think the chiller will operate ?

btw im confused with the watts thing.. is the chiller really 280 watts ? because if you convert HP - watts i get a different value...

i got confused when i looked at the cl-85 it says that the power is 180 watts but the refrigirating power is 85 watts..

for the cl-280 is says 1/10 HP for the power and 280 watts refrigerating power... i think the 1 HP - 750 watts i think ?

    thanks!

If your ambient temp is 33C, forget totally about getting a CL-85. A CL-280 or CL-300 may be the choice for you. I'll get a chiller that is a step higher than what is required.

I'm really planning on using the CL-280. Its advised for a tank double the size of a 35 gallon :P

I'm just worried about it running all day and running up the electrical bill up too much

thats roughly 900 pesos, how many hours a day did your chiller run ? is that USD or SD ? hehe

im just thinkin if the step up is justfiiable the price difference between the cl450 and cl280 is something like 60 USD

hmm i see i see, thanks ! il probably go ahead with the bigger chiller, makes sense but the cl-280 is a bit oversized for the 35 gal already hehehe this means i can get a bigger tank in the future hahah
