It's way too green for my liking and lacking in hardscape to help define a form, but if it makes you happy, then that's all that should matter.
Hi all, finally got a new digital camera from Comex'06, nikon coolpix S5, my old fujifilm R.I.P liao...sad.
anyway, took some shots of my recent tank. kinda "chap-palang"(messy) looking. comments are welcomed! thanks!
just introduced some "red plants" like red tiger lotus and Ludwigia inclinata var. verticillata (''Cuba'') into the tank. but ludwigia kinda losing its redness.
other plants includes: foreground = 1/2 hairgrass, 1/2 e.tenellus,
midground = rotala wallichii, MM, blyx japonica,
tonina, stargrass
background = limnophila sp, vallis/saggis
tank specs: 90x45x45
lighting : 3x36W + 1x24W duration (5.30pm-11.30pm)
temp= 27-28degrees
co2: ~3bps
kh/ph= nv measure, as long as my fishes aint gasping and plants growing well.
fert= Dr Mallick's NPK series, Ferka Aquatiliser

Call me Brian.
P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.
nice scape! thought you using chiller, plants seems very healthy looking.

Very lush!
However, I think the color is over saturated. The green does not look right. You might want to check the setting on your camera or the post processing software.
Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
yup, agree the scape kinda too green, my mum also complaining it's like jungle.
btw, benny, any idea how to get a nicer pic, "lessen exposure" or......etc...i'll test more shots with different settings later

Bro Taz, I love your scape, your plant looks so lush and healthy. Got the jungle look! Love it alot. I believe you have to trim your bg plant very often, tedious work but pays off well! Cheers!
thxs hirowen, yup, the limnophila sp are growing pretty fast + stargrass, gotta trim them weekly/fornightly.Originally Posted by hirowen

Looks goodvery lush and plants healthy, red tiger lotus would make a great focal point.
probably need some trim soon to give the plants better form.
...I love rubies too ...
Ken
very green and lush feeling. but is there alot of maintainence needed from time to time? like trimming? coz i thk i saw a few which r pretty fast growers
but the over saturated part look like the effect that u over adjust in photoshop iszit ? ...and the focus a bit wrong as the foreground plants look blur...
Ah yaa you went Comex too ... should ask you together... I bought myself viewsonic 19" LCD.
hihi.
after getting some feedbacks + complains by my mum abt my old scape, i decided to trim away + give away the bunch of limnophila sp, makes my old scape look too dense.
here's a look at my trimmed and new looking scape.
planted some red tiger lotus in the center middle, but guess from my angle of shot, can't capture a lot of them.
replaced my left middle with some tonina

Gorgeous looking tank....some red lotus in the middle would be nice n to break the greens...![]()
looking great!![]()
but the hardscape still isn't clear i guess...
agree with troyz.. maybe some reds might help.. or rocks
haha...actually there are around 2-3 more stalks of tiger lotus in the middle, just that my thick lawn of hairgrass + e.tenn camoflage it...must wait for it to grow taller, then snap another shot....

Hmm... I actually prefer your first scape. :P But your new one's a looker nonetheless. Btw, noticed that you left your Rotala Wallichii on the mid section of your tank. These plants tend to grow pretty fast so you will have a challange on your hands to maintain the scape.
