Sharing some updates of my bitaeniata from Apistoworld....

As some of you know, the female almost walked into "gate of death" when she jumped out of a small tank while acclimatising....she was quite 'dry' when I picked her up and quickly aerate her with oxycure and de-stress solution!! Was really lucky and thankful that she has pulled through....now recuperating in my endlers tank while the male is in his breeding tank...

Both are fed bbs, mysis shrimp and hikari discus pellet (especially the male who loves it) would be pumping them up a little before putting them together for some serious business*

    Male searching for food.

Photo-shy female....almost died!! revived from the dead!! Thank god man

A blur pic of male flaring, fully extended fins covering the tail...

Yes. Apistogramma spp. are known to jump the tank sometimes. Do be careful. Glad to hear that she didn't become dried fish.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Yea, I've lost touch with apistos for quite sometime....seems like what I've learnt in the past is stored somewhere in my brain!! Will take note of it in future...

She's doing very well now, chasing fishes and establishing her own territory....unfortunately this is not the intended breeding tank...

should I swop the fish around as in the female to her breeding tank and the male to the spare tank?

Hi there, just bought a digital camera from Comex and will soon be taking pics. Meaning to say that both male and female took mysis and pellets? Mine still refuses them. So they adapt quite fast in your tank maybe not mine.

But when your male takes in the pellets, do you seen bits of pellets coming out of the gills area?

Mine likes to do that... So I wonder is there anything that goes down his gut!?

My male caca does the same thing...pellets in the mouth and out from the gills... Did not see the same when i feed frozen blood worms and bbs. So i suspect he is rejecting all the pellets through his gills

Not in my case guys, i think i'm lucky that the male is taking in most of the pellets as a see very very little bits coming out of his gills....I even fed him till I can see the slight bloat on his stomach!!!

Yah... I noticed that too... Frozen BW or BBS don't come out! Maybe too big to come out...

Kind of worrying that it is the dreaded internal parasite/bacteria again...

Update: After dosage of Dennerle S7, coloration of male deepens, finnage is much extended on the dorsal and caudal, appetite of coursem increases as well....

Was searching high and low for the female when I reached home, but couldn't find it....found the male resting on the gravel, was so scared that there was something wrong with him!!!

When I look closer, the entrance of the clay cave which I've added few days ago was piled up with sand.....when I dropped some yummy pellets near the entrance, here comes the female!!! Then I saw the female doing the mating dance with the male!!! Lets see whats next....can't see whats in the cave, eggs?? hehe

    Stay Tuned..!!!

Erm, how long does it take for the eggs to hatch into wrigglers?

    Hi Eman

Can I ask you how often do you dose S7?

Do you follow the instructions whereby it's once a week, 2.5ml for 100L?
    I am into Plecos now...

Same here, female is arranging the sand to make the entrance smaller. Just bought S7. Wondering will this also enrich the colours of CRS. Wah going to see baby fries soon. All the best in breeding man.

all your fishes so fast getting ready? my Aga female not doing really well though... as wadzzup said, a little bit sunken in.. not sure whether it's sick, not eating well or birth defect....

male is chasing the female when he sees her.. her color is rather yellow now though

i am changing diet from flakes to frozen mysis and live brine to pump her up...

S7 will enrich both plants and fishes + or any other live things in your tank.....
Food is quite important to keep the fish healthy....i feed live BBS, forzen mysis and Hikari discus pellets which are high in protein, this really helps to pump up the fish, but do take note to feed moderately, don't feed until so much till you feel shiok!!! Haven't gone home yet so don't know whats the progress
