Hi Guys,

Have been wondering if I should go for a 322 or 422 tank setup for my friend.
He has posted me with question on the feasibility, cost and maintenance of each setup. I have to oversize the setup as I don't want the chiller to kick in every now and then for long period of time. (Electric saving) Below are the proposed item:

Setup 1
======
Tank Size:322
Chiller: Resun 450
Required pump: 1200l/h
Filter recommend: Ehiem 2215 (600l/h)

Setup 2
======
Tank Size:422
Chiller: Resun 650
required pump: 1800l/h
Filter recommend: Eheim 2028 (1050l/h)

For a starter, I will recommend on the a 322 with a cheap resun chiller. But I'm quite hold back at the pump flow rate to drive the chiller as I don't want the chiller to work indifferently with the required spec.

As normally, other will use a separate external pump to match and drive the required chiller spec, but on the other hand, wouldn't 1200l/r and 1800l/h flow rate in the 3ft and 4ft respectively create a cyclone? What will be the impact if an under spec pump drive the chiller, will it work? Please advise.
