    Hi bro/sis,

Anyone had bought from the shop beside the NA? The uncle selling me hos 2l CO2 tank (black & Silver with silver top) which he claims to be good and offer 1 to 1 exchange for top up.

Anyone use his service before? What's the different between the tanks (black & silver) that the uncle and NA has? It offering a attractive price but i am not sure on the quality between them.......Advice pls.

    Thanks.

    Cheers.

Do you mean the black & silver Vs the green CO2 tank?

To me, I don't find anything different about both....I have been using the green one for almost 5years now, still working fine for me *I also request back my own CO2 tank, I don't do 1 to 1 exchange when topping up*

why change your tank when you know yours is working?? mine has been with me for a long time and its works perfectly..
Doing 1 on 1 exchange MAY get you a faulty tank..and it MAY not.. but why take the risk..when you arleady have one that works well.

    Hi Bernard,
there's not much difference between them, a faulty cyclinder is like 1 in a thousand or more. Both shops over there are quite popular with the aquarists here so you can buy with confidence. Welcome to the club and have fun.
PS: I also don't like to change cyclinder when topping up.

It is down to personal preference...
With 1 to 1 exchange, I can afford to go down to the last bit of CO2 and bring down for exchange and bring back without having a day without CO2...

Also I don't want to have extra tanks at home, which I probably will need if I do top-ups...

Bernard, just to add there are shops or places that top up immediately, you just wait there. The reason I don't exchange is because the cylinder might be tough but the regulator ain't. And I don't want to end up with a faulty one. Hope this helps with your decision.

Wow. That's fast reply!. Thanks everyone! I read somewhere that the black and silver cylinder is a industrial grade while the rest are different grade. I do think it refers to the main valve of the cylinder if i not wrong......

Anyone has bad experience on the main valve (green, blue or black&silver cylinder type?) What to look out for in the main valve that has least problem?
    Thanks!

Oh. I meant the black & silver type from both shops. It seems that they are priced quite differently for both shops......Any comment? If not much diff, i might be a cheap and good one. Ha Ha Ha.

I came across thread that on the spot refill cannot refill to the maximum allowable co2. For those industrial refill, from what i understand, need a few days to refill so that max co2 can be refilled into the tank. Perhaps bro/sis out there can have a trial test and see if it is true.......

    Any claims in that?

dunno leh, I have a 2l cylinder running a 4ft capacity (3ft + 1ft) at aggressive injection level, lasts at least 4 months per top up.

Bioplast refills with a bigger cylinder to our cylinder. Don't think is liquid.

it has to be liquid, else how many cylinder do you think they would need?

in a sense it doesn't matter what they fill from as long as you have a given weight of liquid CO2 in your cylinder, right? your cylinder is filled with liquid CO2 not gas, you know right?

Yupz... I was abit lazy to unscrew my regulator. I just let Mr CHan do everything...

But your 2l lasts for 4 months?! Mine 3.6l lasts for only 3 months after splitting the injection to two tanks!

I seriously can consider Bioplast then if it is true...
