I have never seen them at 3 cm. Mine normally don't go pass 2 cm.
Do take note that some times, there are Malayan shrimps that are exactly like cherry shrimp in coloration. I think hwchoy has a picture too. Deceivingly large.

Mine too, female cherry shrimps seems to be larger in size.

I have few giant cherry. They are around 3cm++. I believe they are at least more than 1 year old. Still carry eggs now and then.

My adult shrimps which archieved 3cm size can carry more eggs ( what i noticed ), i think they are able to upkeep the eggs better than smaller size female shrimps.
