Actually i will only do re-planting every 5-6weeks. The rest of the time i dun need to take care at all. Jus waiting to let it grow until it grow like the pic.

    hi tman,
I am working at KL but my hometown is at Muar, Johor. 2 and a half hour away frm JB only.
btw, base fert that i am using is Dennerle Deponit200. Liquid fertiliser i seldom use, maybe once a month. I am using Hagen nutrifin NPK.

Hi I wanna ask, for Tonina, I'm keeping it in a 2ft tank and it grows very fast to the surface... But I see that your tonina are all kept at a certain length, how do you do it? Asking cuz I don't like to trim every week

    hi soltari007,
yr tonina grows so fast to the surface maybe is due to 2 possible reason.
    1. Yr 2ft tank height is not enuf....therefore u feel it is very fast to reach the top. For my 3ft tank case.....to reach surface, my tonina need bout 1 month to 5 weeks. But dun forget my tank hieght is higher than yrs.
    2. If the growing rate is really too fast to the top, possible tat yr lights is not enuf bright...therefore the tonina always wanted to climb to the top to get the lites.

    That's jus my 2cents

    Tonina Belem

    Teeming

Some of the leaves in my tonina is turning brown.. also leaves are shedding a bit....Also, the growth is rather stunted compared to my other stem plants.

I am turning up my CO2. CUrrent light is about 36W for a 2ft tank. Denn base fert with denn fertlizers weekly...

Could it be my wattage of light that is causing this prob?

    Hi wasabi8888,

yeah....i guess the lite maybe a issue. 2ft standard tank u probably need 50++watt of lights. jus like my tank, i hav 50 gallon of water...and my total lite watt is 196watt. Besides that, tonina need very asidic water. So hav to make sure the ph of water always in between 6.6 - 6.8.

When i planted tonina last time, sometimes 1-2 weeks also i never put any liquid fertilizer....and they still growing well. Maybe due to enuf lights and also asidic water.

My Ph is 6.2 so i guess acidity is not the main issue... i think it could be lights but i am not sure. I will try to take a pic and show you ..
