Hi, im new at planted tank.
Would like to ask, what kind of sand or soil should i use to set up a planted tank? Where to get them and the prices if possible.
Also do i have to use fertilizer of any kind? Where to get them and the prices too.

How much of each should i be using in my set up and in which order?
I plan to have some mosses in the front of my tank and some taller plants in the back.
Thank you so much for the help.

Hi user and welcome to AQ,

I would encourage you to read up the beginner's corner sticky and learn more about the beautiful world of aquarium of living plants and their coexistents.

Lapis sand is a good choice and you will need base fertisler(JBL aquabasic).
You can buy all this at Natural Aquarium at blk 1 Thomson Road. As for how much and quantity the shopowner can help you. Enjoys!

It would be helpful if you could share your budget, tank size, where you stay etc. There will be a farm visit this Sat. Probably you could sign up and join the rest.
