Apistogramma in Qian Hu Fish Farm!

Hi all, I was at Qian Hu today and saw some Apisto. Though just want to share with you.

Apisto Aga is selling at S$18.00 each (all are males) and Apisto Apache and Oregan is selling at S$20.00 each.

Have taken a picture of the Aga.

Wow...good to hear that our local big boy is bringing in some apistos, should be able to see in in some lfs soon?

It is probably best NOT to mention prices in such open forums... Some shops really do not like us to openly discuss and compare their pricing...

Was at C328 today and saw 2 pairs. one is caca and the other is agassizi.

Actually, those apistos were there for some time already. THink saw them a month ago... Colours and condition not tip top...

Hardly can get any decent specimen of apistos in lfs...

I wonder how this'll affect Biotope... "Apisto central" for most hobbyists. And i know Thio's stuff is always in good condition, except that sickly tank of... whatever fish, next to the counter that's been there for... god knows how many months

Unless our local farms do some serious selective breeding. I don't think biotope will be affected too much.

The apistos at Qianhu cannot be compared to biotope's interms of quality and colouration. Some looked quite out of shape. Bloated, deformed etc... Quite a let down when i was there during our farm trip.

Thing is, i'm a betta/native species collector so apistos aren't exactly my thing

Not true, it depends on how much money you willing to part in order to get the apisto of your dream. If there are more customers like yourself who is willing to fork out more money buying apistos from overseas, I'm sure lfs will notice this and start to bring in quality fish.
