EDEN501 cracked...

Hmm... I am just trying my luck...

I accidentally dropped the EDEN501 and in the process had a swollen ankle

and a shattered filter casing

. So I am wondering, since the motor is not destroyed, is there any way the filter could be salvaged?

Ok, not really shattered...

But there is a BIG and long crack...

why not take a pic and show us the damage of the shatter filter casing.....

Sure there's some way to fix it!!!

Maybe I will take a pic tonight... After I get a new one! The re-scape was paused as the cloudy water (caused by transferring the substrate) could not be solved due to no filter...

and angry man with angry ankle...

So, not really in the mood for taking photos...

Bossteck, thanks... But I think it will be better for my soul if I just buy a new one...

Anyway, worse come to worse, I try to sell the motor to those who want to DIY...

Maybe you could run silicone along the whole of the crack like how they repair cracked tanks in the LFS. It maybe ugly but it will probably still work.

I had bought a new one, in the meantime... The tank needs a filter...

Hi Justikanz,

If you're planning of fixing the crack, i suggest you get your hands on a piece of plastic (maybe from soda bottle?) and silicon the plastic piece inside the filter, the water will push the plastic piece against the crack and chances of leakage would be lesser than if you just run silicon across the crack.

bro, is the filter noisy? i am planning to keep the filter in my bedroom.

eden501 filter is almost silent. Having it in my living tank, zero disturbance to my family members watching tv. But you might just want to take note of the rain bar, or you could do without the rainbar that comes with it

Thinking of 'silicon-ing' transparencies (softened before hand) to the inside as proposed. But no rush for that now that I had bought a new one.

u mean the rain bar will cause some noise?
