I have Otos with CRS shrimplets in a cube tank and they do ok. Just have ample moss for the little ones to take cover when they feel the need.
Gerald, like all fishes, Otos are opportunistic feeders and a shrimp carcass is just food.
Hiya, I have about 12 Cherry Red Shrimps in a 60 liter planted aquarium and would like to start keeping a few fish. However, Cherry Red Shrimp babies seem pretty small and defenseless, and I would imagine that just about all fish kept in aquariums relish them.
I was wondering if Otocinclus species would be safe to keep with Cherry Reds. Does anyone know of any fish species that would be safe to keep with baby shrimps? Also, if the aquarium is densely planted (mine has a pretty thick Taiwan moss wall) can some babies regularly survive to adulthood even in the presence of say tetras or dwarf cichlids?
Thank you very much for everyone's input.
Gerard D.
