    Ceramic rings and biohome, coarse sponge and fine wool for mine.

    usually will avoid putting activated carbon.

    I heard activated carbon will release whatever toxic they absorb after a while. Thus need to replace regularly.

    can i know, what are the different purpose of the product you use?

    it seems like all the media you are using are quite expensive isnt they?

    any special reason for the arrangement?

    Eheim efisub pro and Eheim mech came in a set. BioHome+ came in later around 4months later. BH+ is supposed to be the best bio-media available, and my bioload is very high in the tank, thus introducing it together wif the efisub pro.

    Heard that efisub pro wear off rate also quite high, though I have not seen any reduction of size 4months later.

    Thus layering them in a 2026:
    Eheim Mech->Blue Sponge->BH+ & efisub pro->White filterpad
