Last weekend I was hanging around in KL, Perak & Penang......

Many thanks to piscesilim, Dom & others.

There are tons of photos to re-size, "process" & upload, so I'm going to take a few days to post all the pictures to my website or here.

Some snap shots taken few days ago:

Good morning Bukit Mertajam (That hill is Bukit (=Hill) Mertajam:

Now is the inter monsoon season, got a lot of rainfalls in West coast of Peninsular Malaysia....but last Sunday was a sunny day in Penang & Perak area:

Bukit Merah lake.....the home of cross back Arowana :

The scenery of northern Kuala Lumpur city at night. KL is my second hometown as I used to study & work in this city for 7 years.

The morning sunlight & the farm land. The big shadow is the apartment where I over night. It is very unusual sight to see a vegetable farm in the city area.

"The curve" shopping mall, my favourite place:

The dome (inside the building) of the curve shopping mall.

I bet none of you ever seen a leech sucking the fluid of crocking gourami:

I think this gourami is going to die soon; photo taken at a paddy field canal of Bukit Merah, Perak:

All the aquatic plants are imported from Thailand.

The planted tank set up looks like a limestone hill formation to me. Very nice aquarium.

Nice Pictures! Keep them coming. Mr. Bee's aquarium really reminds me of a hill with a field and palms. Really nice. Hope it will mature nicely.

    Hi Kuching,

Very nice photos, bring back memories. About Bukit Mertajam, is there nice tracks or nature places to visit. Do not mind driving up there.

    Cheers

DAY 2 - Visiting the garden & pond of Lim. (piscesilim)

Lim has the largest collection of carnivorous plants that I ever seen!!!

The foreground is the carnivorous plants from America, probably Dionaea spp. The background is the cichlid's pond.

My very first time to see this species of carnivorous plant, Sarracenia. Is this Sarracenia rubra???

    The flower of Sarracenia.

Tentacled snake (Erpeton tentaculatum) also can be found here!!!! It has a pair of tentacle-like appendages to lure the fish. (it may looks like a delicious worm to fish) This snake is an aquatic snake.

It doesn't has the scale, so it can not move if you place it on the dry ground. It need water to swim....just like fish.

Lim also keep 2 Pythons.....this one is Reticulated Python (Python reticulatus):

The Python is watching the "mating show"....A male tortoise is on top of a female. What species is this???
