Just got a pair of dwarf loaches for my shrimp planted tank so that to see whether they eat some of the mini snails.
However, this morning, I saw one of the biggest cherry shrimp was dead and both loaches are eating it.
I am wondering whether is the shrimp die of old age or the loaches attack it and kill it.
    Any advise?

I think a lot of users do not realise this, but there is a function in AQ where similar previous threads are listed towards the end of the page when you view the thread. Most answers may be found somewhere among those threads.

Anyway, just to answer your question, yes, they do eat shrimps. But as to whether your shrimp died of old age or not, I doubt there will be answers.

Unless there is an autopsy? Just kidding.

Fish and small shrimps don't normally make a good community.
