I just use water straight out of the tap. Add water condition to the tank and then the water goes straight in.
Just wondering, what do you guys do before you do a water change or topup? I'm moving out and won't have the filter system that i usually use for my tank![]()
So i'm a little worried about using aged water for topups since Chloramine doesn't evaporate over time like chlorine does. Anyway, any shrimp breeders managing to breed shrimp without anti-chloramine?

I'm blessed with good water from the tap too. I've stopped adding anti-chlorine for about a year now.
I'm using filtered tap water. The filter supposes to remove the Chloramine, chlorine and other unwanted contaminant. But then I need to at trace fertilizer, otherwise the plants will suffer.
i just top up my tank of shrimps with water straight from my tap, so far no casualties too.
Even if we want to use aged water, I don't think many of us have much space to sit the containers of aged water unless our tanks are 1ft to 3ft.

If its chlorine, you can force it to escape faster via aeration but if its chloramine, the only solution is to remove it via a anti-chloramine solution.

straight from tap is fine.. as the contentis still not deadly to cause casualty (applying to our local tap water).. the only worry is the accumulative amount of chloramine that builds over time.. thus it is advisible to keep up with water changes regularly.. if you are the type that only top up water without water change, then it is advisable to treat the water to remove chloramine before
I'm setting up a new tank in my hostel. 2ft shrimp tank for my Macrobrachium malayanum Still trying to get them to breed...![]()
