Advice needed- rescaping my tank

It been a while since i came in AQ.

Trying to rescape my 6ft with low maintenance plants- getting lazy nowaday.

a) Lazy to pull out and re-introduced gravel and fertilizer to my tank- about 2.5 yrs. Is it necessary to use new fert and gravel?? Can just add in some fertilizer tab instead.

b) Have lost track of the latest plants/ trend. What are the other recommended low maintenance plants other than fern and nanas.??
