A general trace mix is not going to impact the health of a plant that much unlike that of CO2 (40+%) and N (1.5%) and the rest of the macros. The type of chelator and pH of the tank water may play some part in it but you can probably solve it by dosing more often. It really doesn't make or break a tank of plants with general trace mix. Focus more on the CO2.
