    Hi bros,

    Anyone here using these lights?
    http://www.aquaculturesg.com/productlist.php?cat=5

    How is it ?
Read it's advertisment saying it reduces electrical consumption and heat.

    Sounds like a nice product.

I think the price is very expensive.....probably T5 HOs will do as good as these LED lights? less heat, more light output...

The price ranges from USD849 for the 14" model to USD3344 for the 72" one. They are very expensive indeed! I think its not worth it if one is buying these to save on electricity. It will take quite a while to break even.

I believe T5 would emit more heat than LED.
The issue here is more of the level of light peneration that you can obtain from the LED.

Most of us here would choose a cheaper light set (with better penetration) but higher running cost, than a more expensive light set, with a much lower running cost.

Unless you're on a mission to Mars and plan to have a planted tank in your space shuttle where fuel is an issue, then different story.

Yep, you're right ranmasatome. People interested in DIYing should do a search on the Internet and get down to Sim Lim Tower to get all the parts.
