lighting attachment

Hi guys,

i received a used covered tank of 2.5 feet from a friend. The cover comes with the lighting lamps. But after checking, it doesnt seem to work.

Can i juz remove the cover and buy a overhead lighting attachment to clip on the tank ? Do they sell 2.5 feet ?

If i buying a FL type, how much is the estimated price ?

Definitely you can.
I have a 2.5 feet tank too, but lighting is hard to find. I used a 2 feet T 5 and extended out. However a lesson learnt is that it is better to take a 3 feet and let the light hang out... if you are doing planted tanks. I notice my plants at the corners would sometimes try to creep toward centre... which is not cool.

huh, u mean, LFS dun sell 2.5 feet lighting ? Btw calamari, how much is ur 2 feet T5 ?

i think you can buy 2.5ft lighting but quite difficult to find... not impossible to find... but maybe a better idea might be to DIY your own lighting? it would look neater with the DIY lighting DIYed under the lighting hood you have...

I got it for around 100. Jebo 4 tubes, however I do believe you can still get it lower.
Anyway stick to my advice, even if you do find 2.5 ft light set.......in future 2.5 ft lights will be hard to find to replace, as it is not exactly a default size that shops mass order and stock up. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure on this.
Na does have a pretty good range of light sets, do drop by there to try.

Is ur's a overhead attachment tat is clipped onto the tank ? I want a clip, not something that was juz placed on top of the tank, very un-sightly.
