Do you have a nerite instead of an apple snail? Nerites lay eggs which looks like sesame seeds and very hard to remove from the surface...
Nerites look like this btw:

Hi, I have white substance everywhere in my tank, which looks like sesame seed. Anyone knows what is that? It holds very hard to the surface making it hard to get rid of. I first spotted this almost 2 months back & it's getting more. FYI, I have ramshorn & golden apple snails.
Cheers,

Thanks, Vincent. I've forgotten that I have 3 nerite snails. So, those eggs belongs to nerite
. Looking at the amount of eggs, do I need to do something to control the population of the snails
? So far, I didn't see any additional nerite apart from the 3 adults I have.

The eggs need brackish water to hatch. So it will just stay there forever and not hatch... So no population control required.
Thanks for sharing, Vincent![]()
