I have a 2ft tank with my surrounding room temperature of 30 degree, my question is what will the temperature be if I added a fan for my 2ft tank? Any ideas?

Mine is the same 2 ft like yours, usual dimensions for Nisso tank.
I added 2 fans, tank temp about 26C, while room temp about 29C.

Oh I see, because I just brought a fan and after like half & hour the temperature of the water seems to remain the same at 29 degree or do I have to wait for few hours before I can see the effect?

if your room temperature is 30, most likely a 12cm fan will bring it down to 27-28. On cooler days, it may hit 26.5-27. it may take a few hours before temperature drop to 27. You will experience considerable water evaporation, so do regular top up.

I do not think you can hit below 26 if room temperature is 30.

again, it will depend on your lights, whether your tank is in closed top cabinet.

Just wait a little longer, remember the position of the fan also important...
I'll post the pics of my fan position later, I think I saved it in my computer.

Basically, just aim the flow directly (flat) at the water surface
Can picture it already rite ?

    Here's mine too....
temperature below 27 degrees celcius despite using 2 x 150w MH

PS: errr... I just realised there are three fans in the picture which could be rather misleading. Only one of the AC fan are on 24/7. The rest all all spares that were never turn on at all

Terence, care to elaborate how you fix the fans to the wire case (?) and how you secure the casing to the tank. Or did you fasten the stand of the fans on the tank at all?? That's a neat set up.

when using fan, try to blow the fan directly on top the tank and not across the tank unless you have a very strong fan.. secondly, try to keep your fan as close to the water as possible..

Thanks every bro for the wonderful picture & your kindful help but I have another question, my fan is made up of 12cm but the temperature is 27.5 degrees so should I add on another extra fan to cool it down to at least 25 or 26 degrees?

Have just checkout the link. Thanks.

Aquascaping1982, I don't think adding another fan or more fans will drop the tank temperature further. It all depends on the ambient temperature. But you may try and see what it the lowest temperature an additional fan will achieve. Generally and in the context of our country temperature, it will not reach 25 degree if the room is not air conditioned.
