Those who want to try Willow branch without resorting to "carefully take from TP park" can find it at Far East Flora's (Thomson) Cold room. Huge branch cost around $13 if I remember correctly.

If you go with the missus, remember to get a few bunches of flowers too. Then you can give ger the small branches to decorate her vase of cut flowers while you use the fat branch in your tank. and she think you're so thoughtul.
    Warm regards,

I have tried zeolite and eventually activated carbon.

Zeolite somehow didn't work. Subsequently, I removed it and added 2 packets
of activated carbon to my filter. The water cleared within a week! =)

Now it is clearer then before. Hopefully when I eventually remove the activated carbon, the water will not turn green again.

The activated carbon merely remove part of the nutrients and deprive the green water algae. So long you do not introduce back the nutrients removed by the activated carbon, you are fine. Howver, this is highly unlikely.

The best way solution is still UV lamp. See here on use of UV lamp:

Once all water bourne algaes are cleared, do maintain the right tank perimeters.
