    Hi all. Where can I shop for a 5 ft tank? or are they all custum made anyway?

    I also need lights for the 5 ft. Tank will be planted. I may grow plants that require lots of light. What options in term of lighting system do i have? Should be reasonably priced lah...

    Would be grateful for any advice that I can get. Thanks.

    in term of lighting options.. u have a few to choose from, they do have 5ft lights.. jus harder to find.. back to yr choices (1)FL (2)PL (3)MV/MH

    out of those 3 system, MH will be the most flexible, they come either in pendant or hood form, hangs from yr ceiling, light penetration is always the best amg all the other system.. comes in 70/150w.. Nature is selling their's at $330 for a 150w.. heat is always a consider but the lights have retractable cord so as for u to re-adjust the height.. life of bulb is ard 2yrs

    PL is the second in line, able to penetrate ard 2ft depth, bulb r long lasting ard 6-8mths.. position on the top of the tank, usually comes in forms of 36watts each

    FL? nvm

    Thx Simon. I Think that MH is out of the question for 4. Can't really fix new lights to the ceiling.

    Will consider PL. [:]

    Also, i a bit duh, what's nvm?

    nvm == Nevermind.

    MH is always my choice now.they prove what is needed. If u are planting high light plants get MH no regrets. u can get the hood type..dun have to mount on the ciling.
    Cheers!

    lip, will suggest that u seriously explore MH. for 5x2x2 tank, PL won't be much cheaper if u are going for high lighting. there are cheaper MH. i wish i have done that when i was setting up my 4x2x2 tank few months back.

    i am also interested to know more about the hood type of MH. where to look to them?

    thanks.

    Where to buy the hood type MH?

    Be warned that MH is super hot. I am currently using a wall mount floodlight type MH, but as I'm upgrading soon, I want to consider the other options
