Scissorail rasbora : anyone tried before?

I came across wild caught Rasbora trilienata (aka scissortail, three-lined rasbora, sri gunting) in LFS. I see that they are very tight schooler, much tighter than loosely schooling (more like shoaling) harlequin, R.hengeli, etc. Even though they (R.trilienata) are not as colourful, (the group I saw which supposedly to be juvenille fish) have interesting markings. I heard that they can grow quite large 12-15cm, probably what I'm looking for to fill XXL tanks (2000+L).

Got any words/comments on personal experience about the fish?

Should be Rasbora trilineata. Grows up to 13cm total length (TL). No experience with them unfortunately, but Michael does. Here is his tank.

I find that be it rasboras or barbs or tetras, they may seem to be schooling tightly at the LFS but after a while in the tank, they form loose schools instead. Possibly due to the absence of a "predator" and being too comfortable in the tank. *shrug*

2000+L is a huge tank! Consider Puntius denisonii too, which grows to about the same size, should look really nice.

I have 4 full sized puntius right now, nice fish and colourfull too. They are hard to get and can get very expensive.

LOL... sapu habis puntius at Singapore ... never carry fish on airplane before though.

Too bad I ran out of tickets and hotel... I actually intended to visit Singapore this week.

Btw how much are they selling for a full sized one with good colouring?

I figure that perhaps large bala shark will go well too. Not many aquascape can feature a school of large shark.
