why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Oh yes... They aer VERY tiny in deed... They are found at the betta and crystal shrimp display area... Very tempted to buy! But if brackish...Not easy?
Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/
I'm crypt collecting... Starting cheap, now have Cryptocoryne beckettii, C.beckettii var petchii, C.crispatula var.balansae, C.griffithii(Melted!), C.nurii, C.parva, C.pygmaea(Melted!
), C.tonkinensis(Melted!
), C.walkeri, C.wendtii 'Brown', C.wendtii 'Green', C.wendtii 'Green Gecko', C.wendtii 'Tropica' and Cryptocoryne x willisii
Oh, juggling is hard work, man!...
unfortunately I cannot qualify to advise on the long-term upkeep of this fish. If you can managed to make brackish water (i.e. slightly saltish) then you should be able to maintain them. They are so small I think easily 12 pieces in a betta barrack is OK. Being so small I guess you can only feed BBS (baby brineshrimp).
the premium ethanol is what I use to preserve them for eternity for the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research. See today's Straits Times article on the 10 new marine crabs. Those are the chaps from Raffles Museum.

Been googling around, found this. P. pygmaea immortalised in 10 Sentimo coin, Philippines.

there's a whole tank of them at C328, where they keep the fighting fish. very nice and healthy.

ANyway, found a link on them.

They are reported to be critically endangered.![]()
that's because the type locality is destroyed, but they may occur elsewhere.
also this fish may not be P. pygmaea, no one knows for sure unless they are studied by the scientists. which means you have to buy some and feed them alcohol.

Woopssy..didn't see anything that mentioned fishbase, just came across the link and hope to share around before people make decision in buying them.![]()
But if the specimens in c328 are well fed, means they are well converted and acclimatised in freshwater already ?? Maybe the brackish condition is to encourage breeding purpose instead ?![]()
really small stuff, looks like freshwater, i didn't poke my finger into the water and taste though. Very very cute little things
