    Anyone knows how the flow rate control for those submersible pump works? When I lower the flow rate does it also lower the power consumption? Motor spinning slower?

    No, it just blocks the waterflow.

    It blocks the water flow on the output? I think that will stress the motor right?

    You can use rain bar to lower the flow rate

    Not sure about the stressing the motor part, I guess the back pressure might affect somewhat. If you find the pump flow too big you can split the return into 2 or more outlets or as suggested, a rain bar.This is good for spreading circulation, I find rainbars a bit restrictive as well and usually drill extra holes.

    Hi Sheng,

    So that means that lowering the output using the control bar on the pump will stress the motor? I should always put it at max and control the flow rate at the end using a rainbar?

    Thanks guys.. yup, that's what i did - drilled more holes on the rain bar and set max output at the pump
