    Today is the 1st day of my new born tank

    Here are some images of it...
    The images are bad though =X I used my Sony Ericsson P910i to capture them

    Direct View of DW And Rock

    Front View

    Plan

    Anyway,on the right side i'm planning to buy another rock which looks wierd( I don't know how to explain as it's a rock)
    Then on the rock,I'll probably tie some riccia or either leave it blank with the background of plants..

    Oh yeah=D
    For this tank,i'm gonna have my Co2 =D hehe

    oh yeah,i need some advice

    ~In My Mind~
    On the left there will be a bridge-like riccia,or maybe it'll be left alone
    Left=>Rock with/without riccia/moss
    Middle=>No IDEA
    Base Fert=> NO IDEA too..hehe
    Gravel=> No Idea what it's called but it's black,sorry guys i'm seriously a noob in this my tank before this was a failure but i was able to bred cherries.lol

    By The Way,i haven't really buy my co2 set yet and i haven't get any plants yet,i need help in this =/ Help~~~~!!

    Where to put the plants and all?? I'm so nervous and all ,it's my 1st time making a co2 tank.

    There will be a mini computer fan which will be on for 24 hours
    My lighting will be adjusted to last at the right time where the plants need them for photosynthesis.

    ok..

    the 3 parts i will try to help you with

    CO2, soltari007 is selling his 2litre tank, perhaps you could buy it from him, then buy a diffuser from NA which costs $4. i use the BOYU one which was ya.. $4..

    Base Ferts
    if you're on a budget, try the JBL aquabase (i think its called aquabase) which is available at NA for under $20 a bag. then you have to get some lapis sand or some kind of sand to cover the base.

    alternatively, you can get ADA aquasoil and jus plonk it into your tank after u drain it, do ur planting, then refill the tank. with ADA aquasoil you dont have to add sand on top.

    oh yeah... since you are getting a substrate, you would wanna plant the plants in the substrate. generally, one would think of a theme and go for it. i am toying with a few ideas at the moment. there are many kinds of layout. there is a triangular which is generally used for long tanks where one end has tall plants and it slopes down to the other end

    the other is what i call a U shaped layout. its basically tall at either end and short in the middle.

    Planting =D hehe. I think i'll pick the U shaped layout.There will be tall plants behind the bridge i have(as shown in picture).Ok,there's a problem.I don't even know what kind of plants should i put,i'm a student and i'm still 15 i'll be using my allowance for these,can reccomend me some cool looking plants?If you have time,include some pictures too =D Thanks In Advance.

    i',m not that much older than you.. i'm also a student... drop by your local shops and see what plants there are and what CO2 systems there are. basically u need 1 CO2 tank, 1 regulator, 1 check valve, 1 diffuser and the hard hose to link up everything. its like ur normal air hose tubing but its just much harder and stronger.

    for plant choices. try filling your tank up and turning on the light for say 8 to 12 hours and measure the temperature. it will be the temperature that the tank will be when you have the plants in. then after you have your temperature reading, select which plants you wanna buy. you can google for plant types. you can have a look in my thread.. i have a pic of my tank there in aquascaping. another point to ponder is that what fish will suit your scape. do you want it to be tranquil? slow moving fish? cardinal or neon tetras might be for you. do you want it to look like a busy street? perhaps zebra danios or leopard danios. its really up to you. let your imagination run

    if you don't want your ricca or dont wanna waste it, i'll baby sit it for u. LOL!

    overall a good attempt! dont worry about the standard of the scape we all have to start somewhere. i think you should plant more heavily. as excess nutrients will be a problem in your new aquarium. not enough plants= algae. well.. i'm not satisfied with my tank.. i see ways to improve it. so tweek your tank as you go along... thats what i do. you'll see a massive progression in mine if you look through my old threads. got a rescape planned so in a few weeks time, you'll see the log of my tank. anyway. all ricca needs is lots of light and CO2. and it'll grow like wildfire. all the best with your tank!

    What do you mean about wasting riccia? I gave them to you and i harvest more than enough almost every 4 weeks. Crypt might be too big for the tank

    Err...actually there's nothing much to comments about when I can't see much through those purple tints... the subsequent pictures are much better

    anyway java ferns are nice and easy, you can start with those ready tied on wood, No CO2.

    well then, can consider what choice of plant to get for the fore-ground, mid foreground and background. slowly get more plants to fill in.
