My First Nano Tank (1st week pic to 3rd week pic)

I'm still looking for a suitable filter for such small tank (mine just 1.5L)

The smallest filter I know details of is this small hang-on filter by Red Sea. I've seen an even smaller one somewhere but can't find anything about it anymore.

Chew, I think it is fine to go without filter. as long as you do a frequent water change.

Yup, he's right, my nano tank size bigger than his, but with almost everyday (except weekend, cause it's office tank) water change (about 1/3 or 1/2), all flora & fauna are ok, never sick too...

I got 1ft tank, 8 cherry shrimps, 3 rasbora, mini pelia, taiwan moss and jap hair grass, no filter, occasional water top up. Been up for 4 months and no issue.

Err... for this kinda tank I guess it's because only few number of fishes & shrimps occupied the tank, so until 4 months old still ok.
Personally I will add mini filter, except it's impossible because of the aquascape

It is this vase, right? It is actually available all over the world, even here in Germany. I was thinking about getting that one for my workspace, please provide us with updates on how it works out.

In the meantime, I am trying to set up a wabi-kusa from an ikea salad bowl.

Yes it is a vase. It is not meant for aquarium. Just love the size of it and decide to experiment it

I agree with him shadow. For any tank with a size smaller than 1ft it is still ok not to use filter. However tank starting with 1ft and above, filter is really advisable. Algae will soon appear if there's no water movement. Fav water condition for algae to grow

yup, I do limit the bioloads.

Great to know about that. just be sure your tank is not overloaded with fish that will lead to ammonia overdose.Gd luck!!

Yup, and don't forget routine WC.
IME, shrimps won't efficiently clean algae on glass...

Picture taken one month after the tank is set up. Introduce some new fishes into the tank too after the previous fishes died during the curing process from algae invasion
