Hi, I've bought some taiwan moss 3 weeks ago n tied them to wire mesh n lay on my new tank. Presently, the state is worryingly. The moss doesn't seem to grow well, n some parts even turned yellowish. Last fri, i've added water fert about 5 drops into my 2.5 feet tank. I hope things will improve.

My question is will the yellowish moss goes back to healthy state or shld i juz remove them n retie my moss to the wire mesh ?

My lighting is around 18W x 2 lamps, on 8 hrs daily. No signs of algae. 2.5 feet tank. Internal filter. No CO2, no chiller. Is the equipment good for moss growth ?

Is Co2 required for taiwan moss ? If it will speed up its growth, can i juz buy those cheap co2 kit as i don't wanna spend $ on elaborate equipment.

    Thanks for helping a newbie.

Not trying to hijack your threadbut would like to share my similar situation and possible cause. I have the same problem but the yellow is only on the top tier of the moss near the lights. The lower moss are greener. I use T5 HO 6500K and am changing it to 10000K to see if it gets better. Could it be that we are getting too much light and its stressing out the moss, BTW, Hair algae is starting to grow but also on the top portion as well. BTW, I have CO2 in my tank and using liquid fert. So CO2 will not solve your problem.

Co2 is not necessary for moss! low temperature and water quality plays a part in keeping moss healthy.

having fan blowing to keep my water cool, (average 26c). What is your tank water temperature?

i'm abit worry about the water quality part. You're using internal filter for your 2.5feet tank? you have any faunas in the tank?

i got 7 tetras, 4 yamatos, 1 SAE n 8 rummy nose. But the moss turned yellow b4 they come into the tank.

I nvr do any cooling, as i heard that moss is quite fuss free. Anway, mine is covered and inside a cooling corner, no direct sunlight
