Hi guys. My riccia been giving me problems lately. Been turning from green to brown in it's color...surprising it's still growing but at a slower rate. May i know what could be the causes and how to prevent it.

Sorry for simple question as i just started out on this hobby.

    Thanks

Riccia need lots of light otherwise the bottom part will turn brown due. Try trim it regularly.

My tank is just a small one. 3ft with CO2 cylinder and PL lighting. Riccia at bottom tend to be more brown than top.

the bottom layers are rotting due to overshadow by the top layer. Probably you have to trim off the top layer depends on the condition, else have to re-tie.
riccia requires a lot of maintainence and trimming.

else you can do a search on the thread discussing about it to find out more.

Riccia needs light, period. It was a floating plant originally, therefore you need more light intensity. If you increase light intensity, obviously you have to increase CO2 input as well
