HC lawn mixed with Japanese hairgrass for the foreground. Emersed background... Look for pond plants. Usually can be found at those nurseries along Thomson road.

Side track - What are the dimensions for that tank and where'd you get the light stand from?

I presumed this is a 5 feet tank,
Here's my take on emersed plants section only,
background-don't know the proper name but I'm thinking a papayrus-like marsh plants you see along the ponds in Botanical pond and sold at farm-mart, this will give a nice height and greens.
mid-some emersed echinodrus sp(nice flowers), java ferns on raised wooded areas

Hi, what are your tank dimensions?
The water seemed really filled to the brim, nice, but no suitable for people like me with itchy hands.
Hope you find your ideal foreground plant soon!

For emersed background plant, I suggest Cyperus alternifolius.
Foreground plant, I suggest Lobelia cardinalis 'Small Form' and Cryptocoryne parva.
Midground plant, I suggest Bolbitis heudelotii and Microsorium pteropus'Narrow Leaf'.

Wow.... May i know where did you get your lights "holder" from? Did you DIY it or you bought it off the rack? I'm thinking of doing a "holder" like the one you have.

You can get the stand from Eco-culture. Went there recently and saw them using it. Don't know the price though.

    1 month plus update

Not too bad for a first try I think.

Still looking for plants that would shoot out of the water nicely.

been trying with different plants but pulled most out due to the undesired effect it created.

Oh well, like I said WorK in progress.
