I have ever browsed a book by Aqualog that has many fishes sp. at a LFS in Taiwan before but I have forgotten the title. Anyone can knows the title?
I intend to fill up 1 shelf with books on my hobby. I have not reviewed any of them and appreciate if any of you give me your feedback if any of those in the list isnt good or comprehensive.
List of books I am going to order next week from Canada:
1. Ecology of the Planted Aquarium by: Diana L. Walstad
2. AQUARIUM PLANTS by Christel Kasselmann
3. Encyclopedia of Aquarium Plants by: Peter Hiscock
4. Dr. Axelrod's Atlas of Fresh-Water Aquarium Fishes (10th Edition)
5. Aquarium Plants: The Practical Guide by: Pablo Tepoot
List of books I am going to order from Germany:
6. Baensch atlas series. Vols I-VI - Vol V & VI is in German
7. J. Schmidt: Bede Atlas for Freshwater Aquarium Fishes - German language but mostly are photos with pictograms
Other recommendations are also appreciated.

Aqualog has many different series... depends on what you are interested in...
If I were you, I would buy Walstad and Kasselmann, AND either Hiscock or Tepoot (not both, too much duplication). Don't waste your money on Axelrod if you are buying Baensch - his book is too outdated and skimpy on information.
Don't know about Bede but if you have Baensch Vols 1-3, you probably have more information than many hobbyists need in their lifetime. Vols. 1-3 also have very extensive plant sections.
The Aqualog series (see aqualog.de) are basically comprehensive photo galleries of various fish groups (e.g. cichlids, labyrinths, bichirs). A bit pricey but you have to decide whether a particular copy is worth your interest (e.g. if you are intersted in gouramis and bettas, then their labyrinth book is worth buying).
If you are interested in aquascaping and all the necessary technical details on the planted tank setup (the German way), you should get 'The Big Dennerle Guide, System for Fascinating Aquariums'.
If you are Mr Takashi Amano's fan and would like to learn his 'Nature Aquarium' style of aquaspcaping as well as the Japanese setup, you should get 'Nature Aquarium World' Book 1 to 3 and ADA catalogue 'The Style of ADA 2006'.
Thanks for your information. According to my German contact, the book I mentioned is no more in publication. Don't know how true it is. I remembered it has a few fish groups and about 1 inch thick. The only Aqualog book I have is All Labyrinth that I owned for 3 years now.
Seems like you know all the books I mentioned.Your advice is very useful. Guess most probably I will go ahead buying those you recommended. My problem is identifying fish and plants sp.
Is Dennerle Guide available in Singapore? I have seen in a LFS but they are not selling. As for Amano's book, I browsed through in Kinokuniya before but didnt feel like parting my $$ for it. For Aquascaping, it's ok for me to progress slowly in forums and websites at this momentI may get those in Aquascaping in near future..
Any other recommendation?
