Actually I thought that should be the default... since the whole point of such exchanges is usually that the seller is offering something (whether used or unused) at a cost below a brand new retail equivalent. When I buy, it's almost always at the convenience (time and place) of the seller, and vice versa.

Anyway just want everyone - buyers and sellers to be polite, don't waste anybody's time, if you don't want to sell or buy, it's ok, just say sorry, people won't hate or blacklist you.

Anyway just be warned that this is THE INTERNET, if possible meet in public places and not people's houses, there is the possiblity that you might be mugged.

The rules of 'not talking to strangers' still applies somewhat.

Actually a simple solution is escrow... Have some LFS you both know of hold the item for you and collect the payment for you. Then the next time you go down, you get the $$$ from the LFS. Of course, a simpler thing to do would be to just sell it to the LFS

actually i support the idea of the blacklist or something like a reputation chart(similar concept to ebay's). Seller would somewhat know the characteristic of the buyer(whether he's a pilot type), then if he/she is those type, the seller could request to have a token as a deposit to maybe be fund transferred?

Clubsnap has this option called the iTrader (AQ using the same vBulletin software)... But I have no idea how it works...

Maybe it is something that could be explored?

I think for the harmony of the community here. A white list can be made public, but black lists should remain private to individuals.

Just keep a look out for those black listed hobbists (based on your own buy sell experience) if need be, you can always PM the buyer / seller who is dealing with the black listed person. Just send a friendly word of caution, if the buyer/seller decides to proceed, there's nothing else we can do right?
