all of them are having the same growth characteristics?
could be genetic in origin
My cardinals are growing big eyes, big tummy and the whole fish head is deformed but they are still feeding well. Not very sure any dead but they have been like this for some time already. What could have happened to them? The other fishes are o.k. Has anyone faced the same problem?

No, they were perfectly o.k when I got them and have been keeping them for almost 6 months. Only recently I notice that more and more having this problem. Their eyes were twice as large and some have and thick lips. They really look funny. Maybe I'll take some snap shot of them "E.T".
mine.... few months ago .... the top part of it's lips ,missing and some of the body looks out of shape or deform.... when i them they are ok... now all gone case leow.....
diet? water conditions? i'd be focusing on these two factors first
joestoy, I guess is NTD.
I have neons with deform mouths too after 4-6mths.
And 1 by 1 starts to develop deform bodies later.
Now all gone ....[]
Sorry need to edit this mail again .. I thought read somewhere cardinal is not affected by NTD ???
NTD doesn't affect the growth like that ime
you'll see general necrosis of body tissue, usually starting near the tail
NTD affects quite a few fish, generally all those with a neon stripe
its either NTD or fish TB.
cardinal deformities revisited.
One of my cardinals are exhibiting the same symptoms
- bulging eyes
- almost deformed face
Should I isolate and treat him?
Problem is he has been this way for quite some time already, and he swimming and eating well. All others are quite healthy, what should I do?
