chinatown area and i hear mcpherson area have quite a few crystal shops.
but you will need to spend a BOMB on them for a ice age look.
price for a piece say 6" long and about 3/4" thick will set you back close to $100 depending on quality (clarity and no inclusions) too.

here's an idea.
use pure white sand as a base.
or, get the small tumble clear quartz ones (amooth and about half cm to 2 cm size).
these should be much cheaper than the quartz rods.
then you can shop for a cluster plus a couple of rods for your highlight points/areas.

but if you do spend the monies you will be rewarded with a really pretty tank.

The shine of the QUARTZ rock would be tarnished due to the chlorin of water.
My mum had put it in water for some months, the initial clear crystal ball become dull finally.

Have to consider before you put it into tank.
