Did you manage to clarify with him after that?

they just make the most of everything that comes along their way

Lol. Part and parcel of life.I myself try not to be a pilot, although I must say some really unexpected circumstances that occur.
Last minute changes cannot be avoided. But at least must do the following:
1. Contact the seller or at the very least, remain contactable
2. Apologise for wasting the other person's time, no only that, he could have rejected a higher offer because you have reached an agreement before that.
Sadly, some times, some hobbists lack even this little decency to do that. Personally, I feel it all boils down to selfishness.
I have dealt with quite a few members in AQ and had pretty good experience with them, perhaps we can start a list (in another thread maybe?) or hobbists who are 'responsible' sellers/buyers?

ya, we should promote/highlight those good buyer and seller

just to add on, (though it's out of track) but we should stamp out sms lingo

Happens all the time since I have been on AQ. And surprizingly, even an old timer played me out recently for no apparant reason.
I do believe that unforseen circumstances may happen to anyone, but I absolutely hate dealing with those who don't even have the courtesy to call you if they are not coming. They don't even want to pick up their phone or return your call due to their guilty conscience. No basic courtesy and no manners.
I do have a list of blacklisted members on AQ who I will never ever deal with. The sight of those names piss me off. I think we should have a banned list here.![]()

That's the reason why AQ has a minimum post number for people to sell their goods... It is damn bloody obvious of people chalking up the 10 posts... You suddenly see a barrage of single line posts or questions in old threads and then you see that guy selling a chiller...

Ha, it seems ericchua and myself both frequent Arofanatics too! Side info, it was through Arofanatics that I was introduced to this forum.
Anyway I also was a victim that was stood up; wanted to buy some stuff, drove halfway across the island, waited. waited some more. smsed no reply called no reply.
Actually, was so pissed off I felt like tracking the guy down on friendster, take his picture and post it in the forum for everyone to see. And I did manage to find out what he look like on friendster, by the way.
My anger subsided when I bought the same items for retail for about the same price...
I can imagine why some people back out of buying or selling things.
It's called buyer's guilt.
Because some items are so cheap, we buy them on impulse, and then regret.
E.g. a $50 dollar CO2 set with soleniod.
Darn cheap.
But when we realise we don't have that much money.... we try to back out...but we don't know how to do so...so we flee.
Good thing the only thing I ever sold were some rocks worth less than 10 dollars.
In my opinion, there should be a blacklist instead of a whitelist. Or at least both.
The problem with a blacklist... I can hear the arguments and flamewars that are going to erupt. Either due to misunderstanding, or due to thicked skin pilots.

I wonder if people do this at the last minute because they are afraid of the backlash for backing out at the last minute. But to me, not calling to tell the other otehr party not to turn up or wait, even at the very last minute is worst. Not picking up the calls is a another step down the slide.

Hmmm, might I suggest that if the pilot wanted to buy some items and his nick had been confirmed to purchase the said item from a seller, why not the victim just add a reply with a mild sentence such as eg " Careful, pilot in operation " ? This will alert the seller and will make the seller extra careful and take a step further by asking for a deposit.![]()
Just my opinion only.![]()

Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
i got a opinion. If seller A wants sell something and buyer B is intrested. Seller A should set a place that is convinent for himself, maybe around his neighbourhood in any way if the buyer doesnt appear it wont hurt that much. And since buyer B wants to buy goods from Seller A he should travel just a bit more to show his sincerety. just my 2 cents worth!
