Hi, Just got 11 tiger shrimplets recently, now about 8mm, initially they looked transparent. When they about 5mm, you can see tiny black stripes on the body, just like their parent.![]()

Hi,
all new hatched tiger shrimps are colorless. The first coloration are the black stripes after some weeks. Then slowly follow the other colors like orange or beige or blue or whatever color your tiger shrimp show. Even such fancy tiger shrimps like this one:
(I took the picture today, the coloration is real. It's a true breeding German strain of blue tiger shrimps with "blond eyes".)
need time to develop their coloration. When they reach about 1cm you can see all their colors and the stipe pattern clearly.
best regards
Robert

Beautiful shrimp there, Robert. I'm wondereing if where we can get these in Singapore.
Cheers,
U.K.Lau
Actually some of my tiger shrimp - now deceased due to ammonia boom, have exhibited that bluish, greenish colour. They also had yellow ...beaks and tails.
By the way, this may be a shameless recommendation, but I have bought the best shrimp from Biotope. They are really big and their colours are distinct. Although it's more expensive I find it's worth it.

robert, nice shrimp you got there!
Fatherhood - The most challenging role a man can take on but, funnily enough, the most fulfilling too.

I like the blue tiger shrimp you posted, mine gradually become reddish . cheers
