    hihi,

what kind of driftwood should I get which does not makes the water turn yellow-brownish? or is there such thing?

I just bought one dark brown driftwood from NA, and boil it in a big pot....wow...it's like making chinese tea

how do I stop it from leaching?

    thanks for any help

boiling it may speed the leaching process. It is in fact tanin acid coming from the DW.

water change will reduce the brown coloration of your aquarium.

apparently those expensive DW (they claimed it to be amano type) do not leach, however i cannot guanrantee that since i have not yet tested it.

    bog wood do not leach.

bogwood are those branchy branchy types,,, you might need to soak them long to sink, or you can attach a rock to them to sink them down.

I have seen the "amano" DW (again i am not saying amano uses them) at C328 and Biotope so far.

Biotope sells driftwoods that don't leach out tanin acid. The boss Mr Thio said that it the same type of wood used by Mr Takashi Amano.

I can confirm that. The wood sinks like a stone and does not leech. However the price is high.

Think C328 also no longer have them...
seems like only Biotope is having them now...
