Hi there, thinking of getting the 24g Nano cube for a 2nd planted tank setup, love its size and depht . Anyone using one for planted tank?

Any users there facing heat issues with its canopy design?

Or any one seen a similar diamension open top tank in the market (1.5ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft) ?

    Thanks

These sort of dimensions are easier found made by a custom tank maker!

I'm using a 24g Nano cube for planted. In fact i have 2 of them, both for planted tank. Mine is simple low tech non-co2 setup. Removed one tube since low tech don't need so much lights. As for heat problem, the default setup will have temperature like 28-30deg. May be ok for Java ferns & moss. But I DIY drilled 2 holes in the lamp cover and installed two 60mm fans blowing down onto the water. After the mod, temperature is 26-28deg. Very happy with this setup so far Will try to take a picture of the fans & tank and post here.

BTW while shopping for the tank, i was also worried about tank temperature if used for planted. There's a shop that told me they'll help modify the original fan to blow inwards to cool the water foc. However don't be conned. There's no way the original fans can cool the water even if you reverse them. Cos they don't blow direct onto the water surface. And the original fans only switch on when the lights are on!
