    hihi,

I have just bought a 1.5ft tank and thinking of planting only Riccia and mosses.....

if only Riccia is use, do I still need any substrate?

how do I sink all the Riccia? if I use such a big stainless steel mesh, will cost a bomb, but if I use netting, where should I tie it to? If I use plactic mesh cover with netting, it still will float and will have gap for fishes to hide underneath....

any other better suggestion from expert?

    Thanks

Maybe you can try to put some weigh on the plastic mesh... I think fish shop have sell this type of flexible metal strip... Or even when you buy plant, it is used to hold the plants together...

Why don't you plant the moss at the bottom and stuff the riccia into the moss. In that way the riccia will be held by the moss at the bottom.

I always think it is good idea to put substrate. Do note that riccia grows very fast and doubles in volume every 2 weeks.
